Long Range Plan Utilizing the Goals for Youth Ministry

 

 

1. Faith in Jesus Christ- help young people find a commitment to Jesus as Savior & Lord

 

Community Outreaches- Get a team together to come up with at least 4 outreaches a year for our youth ministry.

 

Teams of Mentors to Disciple New Believers, Troubled students, and Single Parent teens

 

2. Response to Scripture- lead young people to read and respond to the bible on a daily basis.

 

Have 7 year Topic Emphasis prepared by January

 

3. Love for Others- Challenge young people to express God’s love to others through speech and action.

 

Serving Opportunities in the Community- Food Bank, Gung Ho, Bridgetown Ministries

 

4. Effective Prayer-help young people gain skill in prayer and meditation as a part of their personal devotional life.

 

Pre-service prayer, Praise & Prayer Night, Devotional Helps

 

5. Ethical Behavior- help young people develop a lifestyle based on the gospel.

 

Covenant Eyes, Online Safety Training, Parental Accountability Helps, Purity & Abstinence Ed.

 

6. Church Participation- help young people see the church as the body of Christ and begin to realize their place in it.

 

Musical Pipeline- Group Guitar lessons (goal learn 8 cords in one year)

 

Serving Opportunities & training on rotation, Ministry Loops, Promotion of church-wide activities, Communicating and Celebrating the story.

7. Family Life- support young people in building positive relationships with parents and family and help them develop a capacity to respect and have intimacy in their home.

8. Personal Development- help young people understand and accept themselves and gain confidence in dealing with personal problems of identity and vocation.

 

Experience Style Small Groups- Adventure or Serving Project with Topical Discussion (Adventure and Topic plan)

 

Vocation- Provide Career counseling/testing opportunities for juniors & seniors

 

Life Skills Mentorship Small Groups- (experiential learning) Car Repair, Business, Art, Career mentorship with Biblical principals. Group Projects to exercise skills learned. 

 

School Helps- After school tutoring (Wednesday); Study skills training (annual) Study skills website.

 

9. Responsibility to the World- confront young people with their responsibility to their circles of influence, community, & the world.

 

Missions, Speed the Light, Missions Trip,

 

Speed the Light- Planning Team (Create Teaching path with Scriptures, Videos, Stories, Contest Fundraisers)

 

Campus Missions- Student Leaders

Meet monthly-Pray, Live, Serve, Tell, Give 

Enjoy food and fellowship, provide in depth accountability, ensure that reports are being done, communicate outreach ideas (7 Project; B.O.H. Distribution) and praise reports with YP

 

Parent School Ambassadors

Headed up by School Outreach Commissioner 

-At all Schools represented by our congregation

 

10. Growth in the Holy Spirit- lead young people the spiritual experience of baptism in the Holy Spirit which progresses in mature discipleship.

Define what we want to achieve, why, and how.  Detail a policy, strategy, and timeline to hit the goal annually.

 

Additional Ideas:

Activate Young Adults with a focus on “Finding Your Ministry” plugging them in to first serve opportunities

 

Re-enfold Disconnected students This will take intentional time, care, and teamwork with the family, other students, and youth leaders

 

Carpool Parents

            Will bring 1 to 2 additional students as needed (Phone number on Carpool Map) Chaperone rules apply. Background check needed. (Specifications? Within 1 mile or 2 of carpool house? Wait time 10 minutes max?)
