Water Warz Ideas
1. Water Balloon Toss- Stand directly across from your partner. Start off close, and with each successful toss and catch, take a step back. Continue until the last team wins.
2. Obstacle Course & Race- Carry the balloons and run the fastest
3. Throw the balloon the farthest
4. Water Balloon Tag- Whoever is “it,” carries the water balloon. If you get hit and the balloon breaks then… “Tag you’re it too!!” Go get a water balloon.
5. Bonus Balloon Hunt! (Hide balloon(s) ahead of time)
6. Water Balloon 500- You need one person to be the thrower and a group of people standing a good distance away to catch. The greater the distance, the older the kids. When throwing the balloon, the thrower announces a number value to the balloon. If someone catches the balloon, they get the amount that was called out. Continue this until someone racks up 500 points.
7. Water Balloon Football (two hand touch, of course)
Supplies: Water Balloons, A way to tell two teams apart like shirts or ribbons
Each team takes a turn at trying to get their water balloons safely to the goal. If you want, more than one person on a team can have balloons. It is up to you to decide how many there will be. Every time a team makes it to the goal with the balloon they get a point. While the team with the balloon(s) try to get it/them to the goal safely, the opposing team has to try and pop the balloon before a score is made. Once there are no more balloons in play the teams switch. At the end, the team with the most points wins.
8. Water Balloon Volleyball
Supplies: Water Balloons, Volleyball net or rope, Towels(amount depends on number of players)
After setting up your net, make two teams. To make sure the balloons do not pop, each team will use the towels to catch them and then toss them back over the net. Teammates should be paired off and given a towel to use together. If there is only two players or an extra person after pairing, you can use something smaller like a shirt. If a team fails to catch the balloon, the other team gets a point. You can decide if you want to set a point goal or make it timed to determine when the game ends.
9. Hot Balloon (Like Hot Potato)
Supplies: Water Balloons
Have everyone stand in a circle and start the music, toss the balloon around until the music stops or someone drops it (throws must be catchable). That person is now out of the game. Continue tossing the balloons around the circle until only one person is left. The last person is the winner. To make it more challenging, have two or more balloons going around at the same time.
10. Water Balloon Dodgeball
Supplies: Water Balloons, Two Containers(to hold each teams balloons)
This game is a personal favorite. Dodgeball is already a really fun game, but adding water to the equation makes it even better. All you need is a few people, water balloons, and two buckets to hold the balloons. The rules are simple and extremely easy to learn. Divide all players into equal groups. If you do not have an even number of people someone can be a referee or the two teams can decide together on which side will have an extra person. Each team needs their own bucket of balloons. The amount of balloons you use does not matter as long as each team is equal. If you want to extend the game use more balloons.
