Youth Group Security Proposal

 Wednesday Night Security Proposal – Youth Department

Issues noted:

·       MS and HS students leave class without returning or not in class at all. They are on campus but not engaged in a meaningful way.

·       There are also young adults (Ages 19-20) hanging around and disengaged as well.

Suggested protocol:

·       Minors – be actively involved in the stated activities for Wednesday night. Parents take responsibility to reinforce this protocol with their minor children.

·       Youth pastors and leaders notify parents of this standard expectation. 

o   The spiritual growth of the students is our prime objective.

o   The safety of the students is our secondary objective.

·       Youth Group – students will be in class (7 PM hour). 

·       General – adults set the example to be actively involved in the stated activities for Wednesday night.

Empowerment required:

·       Disallow hanging out in the hall, coffee area or in the parking lot. Must be in a classroom.

·       Security, ushers, leaders or responsible adults are empowered to:

o   Ask the student what class are they to be in?

o   Escort them to the class.

o   If they don’t want to cooperate, they will be brought to their nearest parent for supervision or asked to leave campus.
